WPMTest guide
This is a passage-length test of approximately 500 words. Unlike a timed test, it ends when you reach the last character. The clock starts with your first keystroke and records the actual time taken, so you can pause your hands briefly without an artificial deadline. A longer test gives you more evidence about how consistently you type through ordinary text.
Words per minute uses the usual five-character convention, including spaces. Accuracy compares the characters you entered with the passage, while consistency looks at changes in your rhythm. The score is calculated locally in your browser and can be compared with other attempts of the same page length.
Choose one page for a manageable baseline, two pages when you want to practice holding your pace, or three pages for endurance. If you need a score under a strict deadline, choose one of the timed tests instead. A physical keyboard is best for comparing desktop typing skill; a phone's on-screen keyboard measures a different input method.
